Trouble with audio/video file?

The quick solution: change your default media player.

How (in Windows):

  • Click on "Start" (lower left corner).
  • Click on "Set program access and defaults."
  • Choose "Custom" and click on the pull down menu on the right.
  • Under "Choose media player," click on Windows Media Player or another media player from the list.
  • If the media player you chose does not perform well, repeat the above steps and pick a different media player.

The AV/AR collection uses .mp3 (audio) and .wmv (video) file formats. Media players will perform differently depending on your Internet connection speed.

With very slow connection speeds, we recommend Quicktime for playing audio. The video files will play on either Windows Media Player or RealPlayer.

You can also try the long solution: download the file to your computer.

How (in Windows):

  • Right-click on "Access this item."
  • Choose "Save Target As..."
  • In the "Save as" window, choose a convenient spot for your download (usually your desktop will work well) and note the file name.
  • After the download is complete, go to the file and right-click on it.
  • Choose "Play," or choose "Open With" to play on your favorite media player.
  • You may want to delete the file after usage to retain space on your computer.
