The Butler Center for Arkansas Studies has initiated "The Arkansas Vietnam War Project" to document Arkansas's role in the war and preserve materials from the period. The project consists of three components:
- We are asking veterans as well as those on the home front to fill out a survey about their experiences, and we are conducting oral history interviews with them.
- We are collecting archival materials from veterans – such as letters, documents, diaries, photographs, etc. – that will be housed in the Butler Center.
- As these surveys, interviews, and materials are collected and processed, we will be adding information and highlighting portions of the collection on this website.
We want to ensure that these materials are preserved for educators, researchers, and family members to help future generations understand more about the war and our veterans' experiences in it. We believe it is critical to honor our veterans' service and contributions to the war effort.
If you are a Vietnam War veteran, or you have memories you want to share about the war, please download the veteran questionnaire or the civilian questionnaire and return it to Brian Robertson at:
