The thing I am most proud of is my wonderful family. My husband Brian, daughter Lauren, and son Jim bring joy to life. We live in Benton and have been Arkansans for the past twenty years. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, I have lived in Asheville, North Carolina, and in Memphis, with short bouts in Knoxville, Tennessee, and Little Rock. My path through life has followed I-40! I became interested in art in high school and graduated from Rhodes College in Memphis, taking no art courses. I realized something was missing and returned to art, taking clay classes at the Arkansas Arts Center. At that point, I was hooked.
Being a very tactile person, I was always attracted to clay art and sculpture – anything three dimensional to hold and touch. My eggsamples of art come from looking at everyday life. I watch people and see potential pieces of art. Hopefully, I catch their spirit. Movement, surprise, and a sense of humor have always held an attraction for me, in life and in art. The biggest compliment I can receive is for someone to look at my eggs and break out in a smile.
